Additional information: Sauce:

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Grated or ground ginger
  • 1/4 cup vegan rice wine vinegar
  • 3 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil or tahini
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
  • 2 tablespoon vegan brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, pressed or minced
  • juice of one lemon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro


  • nutritional yeast (Definition)
  • sliced vegan bread (rye is good or pumpernickel or wheat)
  • sliced tomatoes
  • fakey cheese slices (optional)
  • vegan mustard


Spread mustard (a grey poupon type works best) onto vegan bread slices. On top of the mustard sprinkle the nutritional yeast, not to much! Use just enough to stick to the mustard.Put slice of fake cheese (or seitan or tempeh) on vegan bread. Top with slice of tomato and other piece of vegan bread.

Some other ingredients taste good too!: seitan, tempeh, lettuce, and whatever sounds good.

You can also just make a quick sandwich with just the mustard and nutritional yeast.I used to make these when I was babysitting my stepsister, she loved them and she is a VERY picky eater!
